Hi, I'm Mike Kneuer, as the founder of EmpowHER Firearm Training, I am passionate about helping women feel strong, confident, and capable when it comes to their personal safety. As a certified firearm instructor with years of experience in firearm safety, defensive shooting, and real-world self-defense training, I have dedicated my career to educating and empowering individuals to take control of their own protection.

I have seen firsthand how fear and uncertainty can hold women back from learning how to defend themselves. Many women are hesitant to step into a gun range or take a self-defense course because they feel intimidated or out of place. That changes today. I created EmpowHER as a women-focused, supportive, and intimidation-free environment where women can learn at their own pace, build confidence, and develop real-world skills to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Why I Created This Course

The EmpowHER Firearm Training Course was born out of a simple but powerful belief: Every woman deserves to feel safe and in control. Too often, I have spoken with women who feel vulnerable in their everyday lives—whether walking to their car at night, shopping alone, or simply being at home. I wanted to create a course that goes beyond just shooting at paper targets. This course is about teaching women the real-life defensive tactics they need to react effectively in dangerous situations.

Unlike many traditional firearm classes, EmpowHER is designed specifically for women. The skills taught in this course are practical, tactical, and directly applicable to real-world self-defense scenarios. From basic firearm safety to concealed carry techniques and active shooter response training, this program equips women with the knowledge and confidence they need to take charge of their own safety.

My Mission

My mission is simple: To empower women with the skills, mindset, and confidence to defend themselves. Whether you are new to firearms or have experience but want to refine your skills, this course will prepare you for the unexpected. No woman should ever feel defenseless, and with the right training, you won’t have to.
